hi all

are ther any other inlet manifolds that have been used on theca18det 8 port i.e has any tryed making a manifold to bolt a set o gtir quad throttle bodies on?

or is the standard inlet up to the task if i went threw it and match ported it and used a sr20de throttle body?

Not much in the way of manifolds. You can use either the 8-port of 4-port (with appropriate cylinder head of course), and then there are companies that make upper plenums that (usually) bolt to the lower manifold. Companies like CPC or that company out of Taiwan that sells them on eBay... It will come down to having one custom made really. Not too many off-the-shelf options out there.

One member on here has the elusive NISMO 4-throttle system for the CA18. It is basically a set of RB26 ITB's and a custom plenum. I hear the RB26 throttles fit with a little modification (using 4/6 obviously) but I have no proof that it actually works. You are welcome to try.

Honestly you will probably be fine with a little port work to the stock manifold and a SR throttle body.

I would take the secondary butterflies out. Especially if you are going to port the manifold. Its just personal preference. On a stock motor, secondaries make sense, but for modded motors I would recommend removing them. And yes, the single throttle body will be fine as stated above. It would be really cool to fab up a itb setup, but they are harder to tune and can cause headaches. Just get your engine running with the sr TB, then later if you want to try itb's...go for it. I personally will eventually be trying to fab up an itb setup but it will be custom probably with alfa romeo itbs, since thats what I have access too.
