who needs the butterflies? anyway, that thing you refer to is some kind of mickey mouse factory boost controller. i believe for the butterflies you just need to give them a vacuum source of some kind. just tee off one of the hundreds of lines the car uses, or if you have simplified it like me you can just tee off the fpr line or wg line.

the selenoid you speak of is in fact for the butterflies and not the stock boost control. besides, if you have the butterflies then why not use them?

The solenoid on the exhaust side of the car under the ignitor is the boost control/hot start solenoid. The butterfly solenoid isn't on the engine harness, it's on the chassis harness. You don't get it with motorsets.

Well crap..................do you work there? I new I should have asked the guy at the counter whose car it was. My wife had to take her "fleet vehicle" Trail Blazer there for new tires, and oil change. If you are heading up to that Meet next month in Huntsville, we should carivan up there.....just a thought.

went to the junkyard and picked up some stuff for my butterflies. I grabbed the Vacuum chamber off a Kia coupe, picked up the solenoid from a Honda H22 and H23. The Honda solenoid has a nice filter on it, does exactly what float did with his but without doing the hole crap.

Honda solenoid with the filter as you can see.

That was the EXACT solenoid I was using and the filter cap moves too much air. You'll still need to use the vacuum cap with the small hole in it. Sorry!

I dont have a picture with it, but that solenoid is attached to a special box that has a built in valve it kinda acts like the vacuum chamber and delay valve all in 1. I'll put it out and take a pic.

yea honda also has another one where its all in one, the solenoid, vacuum chamber, delay valve, pretty much the works, unfortunatly its hard to find cause it was on 1 honda, I want to say on a GSR motor but dont hold me to that. all it had was a plug for the solenoid and nipples, sucks though if it ever broke you couldn't repair it without breaking the whole thing lol.
