I know that exar runs 7.5" wide wheels w/ a 30 mm offset on his s13 and he says they are flush with the car on the outside and i went back and read the SCC w/ the s13 and they ran 7.5" wide wheels w/ a 38mm offset w/ JIC's (which i plan to run cuz i am too cheap for the tein RS). I was wondering if i could run 8" wide wheels up front w/ an offset of around 32mm (if i could find it)...this would have the inside of the wheel the same distance from the strut as the SCC car but it will stick out 4 more mm's more than what exar's wheels do. What do you guys think? Could i get away w/ a 35 mm offset or if i went w/ a 30 would it stick out too far?

its up to you, if you dont mind a little bit of the lip sticking out, then run a 30mm or so fofset, to ensure coilover clearance..why do you need a 8" wide front wheel?-chet

why is everyone obsessed with wide wheels.....especially on the front, you dont need over a 225 (7.5") wheel in reality..I mean an 8" is fine if you want to run a 225-40-18 or something...but its not necessary and only increases your weight and tire cost.-chet

More rubber more grip and for now i don't want to stagger the wheel size so it would have been nice to know if 8s fit up front b/c i know for sure they'd fit in the back.

"More rubber more grip " this is true, but a wider tire does not translate to more grip, and this is what you meant. Yes a 8" wide wheel fits, just use a fairly low offset so you can clear coilovers without spacers.-chet
