8/97 Infinit QX4/Nissan Pathfinder... same speedometer???

My speedometer quit working and from the ones I see on eBay land... the Infiniti are quite more expensive than the Nissans are. The only question is... they look the same... ARE they the same??? I can't get any answers from the sellers because they do not want to commit thinking it would go negative. Any thoughts??? I do notice that mine is a non-digital mileage readout versus mine being analog (rotary) readout. Are there ANY other things I should know???

The wiring harnesses for both clusters are exactly the same, the only difference being the pin-out functions. All of the primary functions of the cluster will work but some of the lights/indicators will not operate properly. For example, the pin for the 4WD indicator on the QX4 cluster is the pin for the rear tire carrier on the Pathfinder cluster. Also, the 4WD indicator on the Pathfinder cluster doesn't have a pin on the QX4 cluster, so there will be no 4WD indicator on the QX4 cluster. In theory you will have most functionality, with the exception of a few indicators.

Also, you may have an issue with odometer readings. The cluster may store the mileage on the older R50 clusters, giving you an inaccurate mileage reading.
