8/23/09 NY AUTOCROSS EVENT! NICO APPROVED! Pix n Vids *56k killer*

I found out that the SCCA holds AUTOCROSS events locally here on Long Island right next to Hofstra University at Nassau Colleseum...

Its $50 if you register online ($40 if you are an SCCA member) Registration Page

The track is pretty long, id say its 3x longer than Carlisle and is in perfect condition... All cars are welcome and spectators are welcome too!

Tech:Car must be EMPTY (not even floormats)TIME: You have to get there at 8am for Tech, event ends at 4:30pm

idk raza... mine will be fine though and i can tape every single run everyone does on their car... I have a bunch of sd cards, so i have the storage covered...

but if you want to edit the raw video, bring an empty 2gb SD card and i can send you home with your own footage..

IN ADDITION, if you want to be taped you need to bring me:

2 AAA energizer ultimate lithium batteries. Its a long day of racing and I want to tape all my runs, those batteries last the longest and they only last around 2 hours so I will need more batteries!

Hopefully someone with a tent (phenom ahem, ahem) will sign up and then we can really relax and have a good time.... Be sure to bring one of those fold up chair in a bag things with you!

JUST GOT WORD FROM MY BOSS I WIILL BE ATTENDING THE EVENT BUT JUST COMMING OUT TO SUPPORT THE FAMILY. SINCE I ALREADY HAD TUESDAY THRU FRIDAY OFF AND GO BACK TO WORK TODAY THEN I HAVE OFF FOR THE SHOW. ITS VERY EXCITING. I HOPE THE WEATHER TURNS OUT GOOD. Brian- Be on the lookout for NICO members with ROTM quality Altima Couples (hint hint). If you find a few, take lots of pics and let me know (if you remember). I'm sure it will be an action packed weekend and you will be all sorts of busy. Also, if you want a helmet, I could probably ship you my spare. $50 plus shipping and its brand new. As seen worn by Repo here in Nashville: Snell M 2005 rating, fits a wide variety of heads.

The thing is, I reviewed the list of people registered (they show you on the ny scca site) and no one is currently registered for tomorrow except me!

They have loaner helmets that im gonna use tomorrow, but ill probably take your helmet too, ill email you later.

nice meeting some of you guys finally cant wait till d1gp and the other autocross events i really need some racing seats i was all over the place in my car i had to hold on with one hand and drive with the other but it was still alot of fun .

When we got there and saw the track we were like "UH OHHH" because it looked complicated as hell and there was a lot of space btwn the cones... theres teachers who will ride along with you, and theres walkthrus of the course to familiarize yourself with it...

Then it was simple... in 9 runs, i skipped cones on like 3 of them, then i realized which cone i was missing and had it down cold... I didnt hit a cone all day...

Altikid (vinny) he on the other hand skipped a cone on 7 of 9 runs, hit a cone on the 8th one and had one clean run lol...
