alright i did a search before posting but i couldn't find anything on it....

I guess this hasn't really been discussed before but,

has anyone ever put in a 7mgte motor into a 240? i have a RPS13 and a friend of mine is getting rid of his 7mgte motor from his MK3 turbo supra and i was wondering if anyone has fit one into there 240 before, i figured people put RB25DET motors in there s13's a 7mgte shouldn't be too differnt, does this sound stupid, if it wasn't too terribly diffucult i think it'd be a good swap since 7mgte motors are in u.s. spec cars it seems like parts wise it'd be alot easier to upgrade and find parts for it then going RB...

i don't know why you'd go that route.... why not just a 2jz?

Well yeah, but 2jz's are definetly expensive hehe....... a 7mgte isn't that expensive and are quite tunable, a friend of mine runs 13.6 in his mk3 supra with upped boost, turbo back exhaust and a afc...

7mgte's are pretty cheap that's why i mentioned it

**** THE 7MGTE!!!!!!!!!!! You really really really don't want that engine, it has enough problems without being transplanted and it's a ***** to work on. I owned an MKIII Supra and can tell you you want no part of that engine. And for all the trouble it would be you could turbo your KA and make just as much power. It's only a 3.0 turbo I6, albeit it will really crank out the power but it has problems with the head gasket and the head cracking and warping really bad, and fixing that on this car is a total pain in the ***. Go turbo KA.

hey thanks for the info, i was just curious about it, i knew about the headgasket problems, but your right it just wouldn't be worth it in the long run.. I'm really intested in turbo'ing a KA it seems like it doesn't take alot of boost well though, but with the iron block it seems like it should be damn strong i know the ka is a good motor

Plus you wouldn't want to give up the good gas mileage of the KA...especially only for a little bit more horsepower and headaches from engine problems....

My previous car was an MKIII Supra....later bought the S14, been happy ever since : ).

I've got a friend with a Mk.III Supra T who needs a motor. Is it for sale?
