Cheers, I'm a Mk3 Supra owner from NM and I've been doing a lot of reading up on the CA18DET to help with a swap for my friend.

I spoke to a couple of you CA18DET guys over AIM (you guys rock) and discovered that MK3 Supra Turbo's (7M-GTE engine) use 440cc top feed oval plug low imp. injectors. According to what I've been able to turn up, this would make them a drop-in upgrade for anyone not wanting to drop $400+ on a set of injectors. 440cc injectors should bring a 4-cyl like the CA to the 300-320 rwhp area safely, a little further if you wanted to push your duty cycle.

I'm not sure if anyone's already discovered this, just thought you might like to know.

Edit: On a side note, the CA18DET also uses the same Fram oil filter as the 7M-GTE, the 3614. Kinda funny :)

that sounds cool, it looks like Supra injectors and a Big T28 would be some low budget 300whp. I might have to do that if i go the cheap route on my CA.

Plus buying a used set of 6 gives you two spares, when the used injectors have problems.

Sweet! Does an upgrade like that require ECU reprogramming?

yes...larger injectors always require an adjustment to the ECU, however the MAF sensor COULD be hacked (use the search function for "hacked MAF" in the KA-T section)

I used MKIII injectors, fit right in, but the plugs are different (re-wire them)

I am going to try to use injectors from a 4g63. They are 450cc. I will let you know if they work.

are ca stock injectors low or high impedance...

Cause i know the 7M-GTE injectors are the nippon-denso 440cc LOW imp.

CA injectors are 370cc top feed, low impedance.

from what i've read, the GT-R 440cc injectors swap right in without any extra work. but who has a GT-R and doesn't need their injectors?

If they are indeed LOW impedance then try turbo 4g63 (DSM) injectors. Those are nippon-denso 440cc low impedance, top feed, with rectangular connectors. Plus a set of those things costs like $50 or so from any DSM guy that is upgrading.

my only issue is on the silvia forums i went on they said the o-rings may be a different size. if they don't fit perfectly, you'll have a leak, or u swap rings. i just wanted to know if anyone's tried it yet. that's all.

I guess i will be the first to try the 4G63 as quite a few people here are selling them, some even complete fuel rail and cut harnesses.
