I also found out during my first service this week that the reason my VIN is not included in the updated 10-075 TSB for 7at issues is that it already has the software level from the TSB reflash. It also has most of the driver observable symptoms in the TSB: hard 2-1 downshifts, more engine braking than I'd expect, and a noticeable flutter sometimes in the 40-50mph range under light throttle. That last feels almost identical to an issue with my '08 Subie Legacy GT, which was scheduled for a torque converter replacement under a TSB when I traded it. The Subie problem was due to a mechanical issue, though, the flutter was the TC going unlock-lock-unlock-lock.

It's not awful, though. I don't hate the transmission, I'm not sorry I bought the car, and I'm not going to worry about it. Apparently those are characteristic of the transmission, and the software update mitigates but does not entirely correct them.

It bothered me when my car was new also, but i got used to the awkward shifts and really didn't notice them anymore after a few months.

Ya just something you hate to prep for when you start to slow down. You'll learn its habits and adjust lol....

^^ WTF Amays, when did you hit 2000 posts?? I remember when you were just a little baby on NICO with like 100 posts! You guys grow up so fast!!!!! :crybaby Hahaha!

OP, the best bet is to simply live with the issue like the others have said, at least until Infiniti releases a secondary bulletin that provides another update to the transmission system.

^Yep, that's pretty much what I was saying. In general, I like how the 7at works in DS, and I'm impressed at how little difference I get in gas mileage driving hard vs. driving easy. On this car it's about 1mpg, on my two Subie Legacy GTs it was 3-4.
