7al3 with locked out distributor

Any one here running this setup? curious to see what experiences any one has had? I was thinking of buying the universal flying magnet wheel from msd and using the earlier s13 distributor for easy hook up to a coil. the stock distributor would be just a slave to the box just transfering spark when it tells it to. there is also 4 rpm activated switches for timing retard. But i wonder how it would act if you tried driving the car on the street? Any experience with this setup or something similar anyone can share input on?
