PS: you havent lived until you tossed a 4000 lb sedan at 100 mph, thru the construction switchbacks mile after mile.

I did that in my 3000 when I was coming back from florida...man was that fun.

I wish I could afford a Q (not just the car...but the tremendous amounts of gas for that car)

I've traversed 2500 miles in 32 hours. Switched off with a friend of course and stopped only for gas and food. Long drives can be fun.

I drove from Hundred, WV, to San Antonio, TX, in 26 hours straight through, and that included several hours of traveling on ice and snow on all season tires. In an 89 240 sx with 2.5" catback.

I guess you're working off the the idea that "half a day" meant 12 hours? I wouldn't be surprised it he was closer to 8 to 10 hours.

I did 2 runs the end of July 649.4 from CIncy to South GA in 10 hours, inculding losing about 45 minutes in ATL (near the AMS) due to standing traffic. I made the run back, from Columbus (90 miles SW of ATL) about 600 (maybe fewer) miles in 8.5 hours including sitting down to eat for 30 minutes or more.

It's funny how the speedo points straight up at 80 :D and just over 2500rpms.

It helps that some moron who cut me off in an eclipse got pissed off and took off. I let him pull ahead about a 1/4 mile and trailed him doin a little over 100 for a while. I figure if I see his brake lights go on, it's a pretty good indication that I should brake too. My friend was sleeping at the time so he had no idea except when I pulled off for gas he looked at the map and was confused how we got there so quickly from our last stop. While noone else would lead me going that fast, I tried to look for the speeders and trail them at a distance. I maintained 90 most of the time that I drove.

I claim fame to driving from Mankato, MN to Marietta, GA in 15 1/2 hours, by myself. I've also done Marietta, GA to Lancaster, CA in 40 hours (almost to the minute) by myself...straight through. :)

Caffeine....

I actually slept probably 7 or 8 hours at rest areas on that run. I bet it actually only took about 32 hours of actual driving, but I factor sleep in just like any other stops. I left on a Tues night about 6pm EST and got there about 7am PST on Thurs morning. I actually did this only a couple months ago. There is another thread somewhere in here about how I went to the national SE-R convention this year....I talked about driving there in that thread.

That's what set Infiniti apart. I'd do it in a heart beat in the J. The J30t is right in her element at that speed. Perfect RPMs and suspension.
