Hey all,

I have a 1974 260z and am looking to do an engine swap. i have considered either the rb20/rb25/sr20. i would rather stick with an rb. what kind of problems if any would i have with droping the 25into it and what would be some pro's and con's to either of these?

Thanks, Greg

price of the motor would be the biggest.

go check out the RB section for good info on the differences between the two motors.

Mr1der is correct. The only serious things you will need to think about are the mounts, radiator, oil pan, and exhaust. I was going to do an rb25 swap due to the potential of the motor (I dig the rb rumble). I would say if you have the money, go with the rb25.

be sure to search through our classic z section, we have a couple of RB S30 members, I'm nto a fan seeign as the L6 has nearly as much potential for a fraction fo the cost and none of the drama

I do love the L series...

but you gotta replace a lot of stuff to really go beyond 300hp on the L28ET...

I still wanna get an S30 roller and put an LSx in it.

I thought about the same think man, very, very tempting. An LS sounds sick, and in a feather-light car...

indeed

I'd be happy with a rust free with an L series though...if I manage to screw one up...then an LS...

not really, 400whp is the death of the pistons

all the sopporting mods like turbo, injectors and intercooelr would all need to be upgraded on an rb for the same power

I'd say L28ET. Just look at dky's car for inspiration
