72datsun 510 KA-E build up

Ive been on this forum for a little while but my old account wasn't able to log in.

As the title says I have a 72 510 with a KA-E swap and a couple of years ago I hydro locked my motor. Now I'm finally getting around to piecing it back together. Machining work is being done and all that fun stuff but the only thing I'm not totally sure about is what parts will work with the SOHC motor. I'm finding that people don't really sell used or hold onto the SOHC parts.

When it comes to the KA I'm assuming pistons and rods are interchangeable from the SOHC and the DOHC. My question is, are there other motors that are interchangeable in the same way with my KA-E? Anything to increase the likely hood of finding parts will help.

I know there are parts out there for the KA's but I can't justify spending $1000+ on just rods and pistons. If I can get a lightly used .20 over piston/rod combo from some other form of of motor I think that would broaden my search a bit.

Or if anyone knows where to get a quality set of rods and pistons that won't break my wallet, you can post that up too. I'm not making a high HP racer or anything. My main concern is to get it street able this year and put some driving miles on my car as it has been to long since I have drove it.....
