My 5-speed needs rebuilding. I'm going to have a guy at work (dodge/Chrysler/jeep technician) do it, who has rebuilt his a long time ago when he had a 720. Anyways, anybody have a good sourcd for rebuild parts?

Also, is there another gearbox the same size I can swap bellhousings on instead of having this trans rebuilt? I've heard the 240sx trans is longer, which I dont see working.

Sorry if this is a repetitive question, I just can't find the answers

The trans from the d21 pickup (newer version) should work with a swapped bellhousing. The trucks were identical in a lot of ways, except the newer ones with more ideal parts that were more... bulletproof.

What about a 280zx gearbox? I heard the gearing is better for racing, and the 5th is great for highway mileage. I won't be doing any towing most likely. Will the zx 5-speed work also?

No bellhousing changes needed. The 71A/B and C series all share the same bolt patterns. I am installing a 71B series from a 79 620 in my 91 D21. We made a pattern using the 71B. Holding it up against the 71C the bolt pattern is the same.
