I have an 85' 720 that i drift all the time, anyways I was out with some friends and half way through the night my transmission blew. Anyways my question is I have a rebuilt 92' 240sx transmission in my garage, I looks like it will bolt up and i already know its a little longer, and i'm going to have to have a custom driveshaft made, but i was wondering if it will bolt up to the engine and to the mounting location?..

Any info would be very appreciated, thanks.

It might fit.. I swapped a transmission from an older 2WD 720 into my 86 720 4x4. Their engines were different too. You might be able to get the newer gen transmission to bolt up to your older 720's block.I seem to recall all the Nissan 2.4's use the same bell housing bolt pattern through the mid 90's at least.

But when you say the 1992 transmission is longer, where is the shifter mechanism on the 92 transmission in relation to the one in the 720? Will that pose any issue for your swap?
