720 tow capacity

i have an 84 kingcab with a l20b 5 speed. any one know what the maximum tow capacity is?

I've looked for an online owners manual and came up empty.

From the '81 manual:Never exceed value for trailer with brakes is 2000lbs, 1000lbs for trailers without brakes. Maximum gross combined weight shouldn't exceed 5000lbs (5400lbs for 4wd models).

Max tongue load is 10% of trailer weight, and should be considered part of cargo load and gross axle weight rating.

Max cargo payload (not trailer) is 1100 pounds for all models, and rear max gross axle weight is 2400 pounds.

The information given by captainzeros is for all combinations, that is engine and gearbox. Whether its the L20B, Z24 or J16 as in my case. It just means the bigger the engine the faster you will move.
