Here are a few pic of the project that I have taken. Scored the truck for a great price from one of my dealership that I service. (I work for Dr Vinyl in Louisville) Hoping to restore the exterior to a somewhat original paint layout, but what flat or satin finishes. Interior will be gutted and very streamlined. (no dash, buckets, indoor/ outdoor carpet) Hoping to have the project turned within 60days. (will see $$$) Now questions, your input is very welcome!Lower on block and drop spindles or air ride?Replace bed or go naked frame rails? If I go with a bed where can i get a replacement? Anybody know if there are replacement floor pans for the 720 or should I just fab some?

thanks, joe

It looks like you got a good price on it. The damage on the bed over the fender walls might be a clue to replace the bed, who knows how much bondo is holding together the lower seam.( the most rusted part on my 720)

60 Days!

The bed doesn't look bad for what I can see, I am sure bondo is involved.

I am not to familiar with truck suspension. I am sure airbags are nicer to drive on.

Replacement Floor pans might require some driving, I'd say fab them. Sounds like you have the skill and know what you are wanting.

What motor are you running?

I say fab a flat bed and run air ride, air ride will give the best ride naturally and also give you adjustability. I look forward to seeing where this goes.

Welcome aboard! Looks like you are local

A bagged suspension would be nice. I would not simply go bare frame rails so if you can't find a better bed then I would suggest building a flatbed with wood-stake sides.

Went to the shop today and worked on the dango. Removed all the marker lights and tailgate. Shot degreaser in the engine bay hoping to remove the tons of gunk all over the engine, inner fenders, and whatever else was covered in caked used oil. (pics soon for got camera )

Questions1. how do the lights in the rear bumpercome out? license plate trailer hitch2. Besides soaking bolts in PB blaster and impact on full blast; thought on how to remove the truck bed bolts?3. Ideas on a new gas tank? ie. Keg, hot water heater tank, aluminum tank....4. FLOOR PANS!!!! any leads? My are Rusted gone!

thanks, keep on truckin'

Heading to the shop in the morning to work. Dropping fenders and spraying some undercoating. Going to try to beat out some dents in the fenders. Say bye bye to the rusty bed as well. Picks to come. A guy from church gave me an OG service manual today!! pumped! Same guy has a z32 and 5speed tranny totally rebuilt sitting in his shop for 200 bucks. Getting that ASAP!

ps Pics to come once I return from the shop tomorrow
