I wanted to start a Thread where others could share their Quirks..

My 720 Sqeeks when I backup.

I have to hold the shifter down for the blinker to work when turning left.

The interior Dash light does not come on until about 10 seconds after i turn on the lights.

LOL i could go on forever! The biggest quirks right now are:1. The driver side door does not want to close unless i shoulder tackle it the "sweet spot"2.Every one ive met with one of these has a leaky front windshield, right in the bottom corner,3.My wife lost my spare key when it was not running for a little while, so I have to hotwire it every time I want to move it.4. hmmmm what else? oh yeah ! IT"S AN OLD TRUCK with 225000 miles on it LOL

Dash and running lights take up to 5 minutes to come on depending on the outside temp.

Leaky rear window, passenger side, but the water comed out of the holes in the ridge below the window.

The ever leaky windshield, drivers side corner.

The driver side door open switch has to be jiggled sometimes to get the dome light to come on. Passenger side does not work at all. (if ther even is one)

The starter and the flywheel do not like each other, so bump starts for me.

Tailgate latch handle is broken so I have to pull on the latch bars to open it, so the inner tailgate panel is in the bed.

Takes forever for the driverside to defog/defrost, considerable size leak between the blower and the heater core.

maybe some more but it is a strong running 220000 mi $350 truck.

mine did that sometimes, or sometimes the headlights wouldn't come on right away. a small squirt of wd40 inside the mechanism for the lights cured that.

I have that same issue as well.. This has been a WET year as well. Every Night I go out and put a dry towel in the right hand passenger corner and in the morning it is pretty well soaked...

Head lights come on when they want. A little jiggle of the switch and they go off.Leak in the lower left wind screen. No play in the hinges and solid door but i have to lift the door to close it.Hit a reasonably large bump and the pocket opens, and the tailgate also.Got to hold the steering to the right a little to go straight (like pezi).Step bumper rattles.Side indicator works when it wants.Dash lights go on and off when driving.

But my 720 WORKS GREAT.

1. driver side upper portion of windshield leaks. 2. dash lights depend on temp. 3. ignition switch was held together with zip ties when i bought it. now is pushbutton4. blinkers are now manual(i have to turn them on and off for the blinker effect)5. used to kick a flame after 6800rpms. fixed that. good all the way to 7200 now. 6. used to like to shoot the oil cap off. 7. rear bumper moves up and down when stepped on.

but i love my datsun. that's why she's apart and having the low compression boost z22 franken engine built for her in my garage.

My brake lights stick sometimes, but you just have to mash the brakes and it goes away. Should be fixed when I get it back though.

Caulk gun and a tube of 3m 8609 and you should be sealed up pretty well. You can get the 3m stuff at your local parts store. Make sure you clean up between the glass and rubber real good before you apply the sealant.

Middle speed settings on fan do not work, either max or off.

Tailgate doesn't always latch properly.

It's been re-keyed at one point so ONE KEY FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE is now three keys for extra jingly pockets.

Yeah I forgot that but I did away with the second key. Kept the driver side only.

Hmm.. lets see.

The spedometer wigs out when it's cold outside, and bounces between 20+/- of my actual speed, thats when it doesn't just top out. The noise it makes is annoying.

The heater fan makes a buzzing noise when it's not running on high, even when it's turned off.

I have 3 cracks in the windshield, left side, that run parallel from the bottom almost completely to the top. Yet it does not leak. (just asking for a fix-it ticket)

The hole that the compression rod mounts to on the front left side is augured out, I think the rear bushing is gone, and the top of the tire tilts inward drastically. I threw half a dozen camber shims in there to get me down the road (I was too afraid to mess with the torsion at the time)

The power steering needs to be refilled every couple of days, I'm suprised the alternator lasted as long as it has, could barely recognize it .

It's never run quite right since someone put bb's and ball bearings in half of the vac lines when "getting it to smog"... vac line delete now underway.

Other than that I love the truck, 4 wheels almost as well as my cherokee.. oh, and when I get the truck at a flex the front end sounds like it's grinding gears.. zzzzz.. sort of like missing a shift.. idk wtf thats about?

Solid axle conversion is on the drawing board.

OH, and the passenger side door is falling off it's hinges, shuts kinda funny, and has previously been rewelded.

Need a smaller steering wheel.. they don't make these things for 6'7" guys. Wtb ex-cab!
