hey guys, I'm in the same boat as a lot of you out there. Have heard of possible swaps, but can't find any technical detailed HOW-TO write ups.

IS there anyone out there with some write ups on common motor swaps, ie KA24.... etc

anything would be greatly appreciated ! cheers

Here's my writeup on a my KA swap. The only thing I did different was the motor mounts. I relocated the frame mounts, but I have been told it can be done by simply modifying the driver motor mount bracket.

Did you used the same gas tank as when it was a carb'd motor?

I read you should swap tank due to baffling or something.

I really want to do this swap.

Yeah... I kept the original gas tank and simply upgraded the fuel pump with the Walbro 255. I heard that too about the baffles or running on low fuel but I haven't had any issues regarding the fuel so far.... I just fill up before it gets below 1/4.

I have been thinking of a SR20det motor swap since the prices are good on complete engines and trans. but i have not seen anyone do it yet.

maybe this is my problem... feel free to throw in any suggestions

my motor is still carbed and i do indeed use the truck for autocross.... when the tank gets below 3/4 and i pull hard left corners there is some fuel cut out... but only turning left. also... to keep from sputtering randomly and losing power i have to fill up at a half tank and as long as i do everything else is fine

You stall on hard cornering? The easy solution is to use a surge tank. It's cylindrical in-shape and connects directly to the fuel supply. It has a line which goes to the carb and a return connection. Its primarily used in after market sport applications when a fuel cell is not used and is normal for fuel injected cars associated with steep assent or decent roads. Of late the fuel injected cars come with the surge tank installed in the fuel tank and the return line returns the fuel to this catchment in the tank instead of directly to the main fuel tank.
