Hi,

I got myself TWO 720cc GREDDY injectors over a year ago, but then I figured they were to big for the power that I was looking for, then I got myself some 550cc and thats what currently on my car. (The reason I only got 2 not 4 is because RX-7 has two injectors and when I placed the order, I didn't tell them I need it for a 4 cylinder car, but I told them I need a set of injectors and on RX-7 it means 2 injectors)They are a direct fit on the ca18det, I bought them from the US of an RX-7 store. I paid 110USD each, but I am willing to lose some money on them, other wise they will be sitting at my house for a another year or so.Any one is interested let me know, and reasonable price is excepted. Also, if any one needs soem pics, I can email them to you, The two injectors still sealed in their plastic package.

Thanks,

Rafi

MAN,I had them for over a year now, and I came to a conclusion, that I have no use for them. I got 550cc on my pulsar and they are more than plenty for the power that I have.so who ever is interested, i will let them go for a good price.

Ya, I was thinking of ebay, but I always give the members on this forum first priority before thinking of ebay.

720s arent that big and they give you some headway for a real turbo. I was in the same boat I came across 2 greddy 550s for free but since I was gonna use the DSM 450s I didnt care. After I decided I didnt want to mess around with the 450s since they were too small I checked ebay and found a AIC pipe with 3 greddy 550s in it for the princley sum or 110 bucks. After I pull the injectors out I will toss in some 450s and resell it. BTW as far as I know GReddy/Blitz aare all made by Denso. I dont think anyone uses RC/Lucas anymore.

BTW, Buddy theres no such thing as too large of injectors just not enough turbo......Also with proper fuel control you can tune them down ALOT. Im not sure about Nissans but with Mitsus the larger injectors would show a lower dutycycle/Pulswitdh and that would make the ECU give you more timing.

I am actually using 72 lb/hr injectors as we speak in my woman's car and I assure you that pacmanvr4 is right in the fact that too big of an ijector is an under statement. As I posted before, I maxed out my 50 lb/hr injectors at rough around 350ish hp. I mean 107% duty cycle at 18psi is way over my limit and the limit of my engine. One hiccup and it's good by engine, so I opted to install the 72 lbers the night before the race and the difference in duty cycle is stupendously different like night and day. And if it wasn't for me having my DIS-2 setting on 720 degrees instead of the 360 degree setting, I would have possibly gotten away with tuning them even better in just a few hours.

Anyway, if anyone has 72 lb/hr injectors on their engines or bigger, that's just more insurance especially if you have the means of controlling them and want big boost. On my project I am using MSD 96 lb/hr injectors because they will support just over 600hp and that's where my sights have been set.

Sweet pete, I retract my previous statement. Guess I'm the only guy on here who's got sub-300hp output goals!

Yeah, 300 isnt enough to do it nowdays. If your not aiming for atleast 375-400 your out of the game.

It is actually our everyday setting though we don't use the car everyday. It gets boring at 15psi everyday, 20-25psi will send you well into the 400hp side of the power scale.

float: I'll build my motor to handle more but I'll only actually aim for 250-300ish tops (basicly want fast spool > hp, so eventually go to a BB T28 of some kind probably would be biggest turbo I get, so there's my power limit)

I'm in the same boat. I'm mostly in autocross and so I need that big powerband. I'm going to stick with a T28 out of an S15, and then try and get an equal length turbo mani and some cams later. I may toy with some high compression pistons to help with that too. We'll see....

well, I don't know about you guys, when I put the det in my pulsar, at first it scared me a bit when the turbo went at full boost, a month later, I was getting bored, so I gotta boost controller, a month later I was getting bored again, so I got a t28 turbo and bigger injectors, and that was dam fast and powerfull, till I got used to the power, so now I am thinking of getting a T3/T4 turbo, that sh*t is addictive, well at least with me.The only thing that is holding me from upgrading to t3, is money and time plus the Canadian winter( the car is still in storage)

yea, how many months can you drive it? I wouldn't think that you'd have too long to do it for.

well, due to the weather here, I can only drive it from may- early November, but I only drive it usually one or two days a week since it is a pig on gas, with those 550cc injectors, my car makes V8s look bad especially under racing conditionslol

My goal is 300hp too whenever I get a CA18Det (crossesfingures).

What type of torque are you guys seeing out of your CA's becuase rally cars have 2 liters and like an 38 mm restrictor and a 300 hp limit but have like 340 torque.

That just has to do with the way there tuned. Completley diffrent than any street/Non rally racing. On most cars the HP is always higher than tourqe, Especiley on these small high reving motors.

Unless you have a KA, then you've got more torque than hp. Ofcourse it has a rediculously long stroke too. Darn truck motors...

At what size injector do you start having idle problems?

I can idle 72lb/hr injectors very well! I thnk you start having issues at about 1000cc as well.
