i am currently doin an engine swap on my 85 nissan 720 4x4 king cab and i'm having some issues. the engine that im dropping in is a z24 out of an 87 720 or d21 2wd, my first problem is that i cannot find the right motor mount braket and the 2nd is the wiring (will i need to find a diff speedo cluster or can i use all the same dashboard components

i thought 85's only had the Z24... meaning you already have a Z24... and are swapping in another Z24...

maybe you're swapping in the Z24i? and if so i thought they had the same mounts... or maybe you're putting in the KA24... thus the different brackets...

i'm confused... please provide more info

when i got the truck it had a z20 carbarated (cant spell) in it and it was the 3rd swap it's seen. the z24 TBI came out of a 1987 d21 2wd i'm gonna check tomorrow with the guy i sold the body to, to make sure. but i have the wiring harness, ecu, and ignitinon coils to swap out

that should be the KA if i'm not mistaken... the z24's didn't stick around till '89

Does it have fins or a smooth valve cover? Valve cover with fins and the number 2400 on it is a KA.

The ka will use one stock mount and need the second fabbed, IIRC.

Its using a KA trans too, right?

it was a flat black if im not mistaken and the carb cleaner lid says Z24 on it
