Post

Hi all new owner of a 720. Came with 32/36 Weber Carb installed. Might need a better tune but been smelling fumes of fuel some in the engine bay and obviously alot from the exhaust.

When I turn the car off it seems to struggle to shut off don't know if that has any relation to it. Starts up and seems runs fine just smells pretty bad.

Also it seems to be slow not very peppy. Could be because it is pretty slow lol.
Never messed with a carbureted motor before.

Running rich probably but not very mechanic savvy
Anything I could do to reduce the smell? Obviously needs a tune but not sure how to tune a carb.

Previous owner did delete and plugs some lines will have pics up soon.

Thanks Johnny

Also seems to be no leaks what so ever. Been to 2 mechanics and didn't seem to beleaking from any fuel lines or anything like that.

After I installed my Weber, I had a similar issue that was traced back to an air leak (well two air leaks). One came from the gasket between the manifold and the spacer, and the other was a vacuum line plug that fell out. Also, I decided to take it to a someone with much experience tuning auto carbs, and after those three things were solved, the truck purred.

Good luck!
