Hello everyone,
I've recently started back on getting my completely stock '72 240 back on its way to recovery. Me and a friend with much more technical knowledge than myself completely rebuilt the engine four years ago, it ran ok and my next step was to rebuild the dual SU carbs which finances and my friend moving away put on hold. Business took me away for a solid 16 months where the poor thing sat untouched. Now when I tried to fire her back up I'm not getting any fuel and was wondering if you guys would have advice on what sitting there for that time could do to my fuel pump. What I've done to bring me to the decision that is where the problem is.
1. refueled the car.
2. Blew in the fuel line and did hear bubbles in the tank, making me believe there is no clog.
3. Ran the car on starting fluid for a good 20 secs, revved it up a bit just to see if it would engage, no luck.
Would you agree that the pump is the issue? If so what could I do to fix it(if I can't fix it they are pretty cheap to replace, but I would like to try!)?
