What would you say if I told you that for $700 you could have a standalone with all the features of the latest Haltech and EMS system. Crazy? Well I dont know in my insomniac search for a standalone sys for my new project I stumbled upon this. The Perfect Power PRS system...It sounds to good to be true...it even uses the stock sensors on the engine, and is fully tunable with windows based software. Any input? Has anyone ever heard of these people?

just hope its a good system....i know that aem doesn't make a standalone for the 240, but for hondas, they're a *****, and takes hours on in to get right even on the dyno...don't get a standalone just because the money is right....do ur research and find out from others that have it. if they don't have it, there might be a reason.~Scott

It will cost you more than $700.

They are the people to call...they are the only US distributor for this product.

Sorry for my extrem newb-ness but what are the pros of a stand alone fuel management system. And I'm assuming it's what I saw in Fast and the Furious where the eclipse was connected to a laptop computer.

SOrry again for my ignorance guys, but have to learn somehow.

TFATF greatly exaggerated the purpose and abilities of standalones. They usually don't have pretty GUI's or graphics. They don't show N02 bottles draining. They don't tell you that your intake manifold welds are breaking. They are just there to tune your engine and datalog...usually on a dyno and not while street racing.

When running really high hp levels, or if you just want the ultimate in reliability and tunability, a stand alone is the only way to go. You have to be very knowledgable when working with a standalone though b/c they control every aspect of your engine from idle to spark. Especially if you don't get a base map. For most people, a boost controller and some sort of air/fuel controller is enough...but for other people, it's not. Standalones can be very powerful tools for finding 'lost' power. A local shop called cybernation once had the fastest stock ecu integra. It ran mid 11's. They switched to a standalone and they now run mid tens. Tuning can be a beautiful thing...but again, not for novices.

I contacted the distributor from the dominican republic and he actually told me that for nissan engines...the e6k system from haltech is a better choice since it has a pre programmed input for the optical sensor that nissan uses. He said he only recommends the perfect power for American cars and some honda applications.

Ok so correct me if I'm wrong...you have an s14 chassis, s13 engine (upgraded turbo?!), a JWT ecu...how much did that cost (for ecu), down time, did u get a credit for sending in your ka one etc. Also what were the performance gains in HP & torque, and what parts did you have to upgrade to or buy to accomodate this JWT ECU.?

PS. I'm thinking about doing the jwt ecu or jet with my SR swap.

THANK YOU!

He has a stock turbo on the car, the ecu tuning usualy goes for 5-600, KA core usually gets u 100, ( i know they had enough that they said they werent offering that for a while)....

ps, u might want to start your own topic silviagirl, as opposed to hijacking

JWT.... don't even get me started on them..... If you don't want to make HP and like dumping fuel down the pipes at an A/F of under 9-1 go with JWT......

huh? no. By that thought pattern, you would 'airjack' airplanes, and 'threadjack' threads.....

but nice try though...

here's the definition of hijack: to commandeer (a flying airplane) especially by coercing the pilot at gunpoint

So u cant hijiack a thread.
