My grandfather has this sitting behind his house. All the parts for the front and back ends are sitting in the car. He wants to get rid of it. What do you think the thing is worth? Any ideas?

Cool old JDM ride, but based on the rust, probably not worth much.

BIG project to get it roadworthy, given the corrosion. Good luck finding parts!

Still cool as hell!

neato...

hell, see if you can get away with just hauling it out.

not gonna be worth much and it'll be a ***** scrounging parts for it.

I'm not sure what engine they ran...it looks like it has a NAP-Z head though...Z series in it maybe?

after digging...it looks like a C130 Sedan that's had some stuff retrofitted...looks kinda like a 720 Truck was a donor for a few things...mainly the headlights and engine.

Is this car in the US? When did it come in and what was the reasoning for having it brought in.

Cool lookin car, 5 speed FTW, but rust and who knows what else going on underneath.

I would see if you could salvage anything off it, find someone to post them up on some JDM auction sites and see if you can make a little bit of money.

The car is located in Mississippi. If I remember correctly the original owner was in the armed forces stationed in Japan and paid to have it shipped back to the U.S. in the late seventies. Story goes that this was the only one on record to have entered the U.S. at that time. Anyway my grandfather ran a repair shop in Vicksburg, MS. This guy brought it to him to get it something fixed and I dont know all the circumstances but from what I gathered he just never came back for it. I think there was some trouble with the title. I'll have to give my grandfather a call and get all the details(I'm in N.C., I took the pictures last summer). It was on its way to being restored at one time(bumpers and some trim are still wraped up from being rechromed 25 years ago sitting in the back seat). Now its sitting behind my grandparents house and my grandmother cant wait to look out her kitchen window and not see it. I'll be going down there sometime in May to visit. I guess I'll do some inventory and see whats good on it.

Wow, very cool JDM ride! If nothing else, you could haul it on a trailer and show it off for it's rarity....haha.

If/when you get it to NC, let me know so I can ogle at it;)

If you want to get rid of it, I'd be willing pick it up and tow it down to Miami

Probably not worth much. Put it on ebay with no reserve and see what you can get for it

Are you talkign open market of you buying it off your grandpa?

You buying it - $50-$100

Open market - Worth more in parts than whole

Man I'd love to do a resto on that. I've been really wanting to do a resto-mod to an old Jap car. I just love the 70s era styling, and having a car made of steel.

**Wow, just realized how old this thread was. Is this thing even still around?

nico project?

- OP donates car to Nico - Nico's members ship car to AZ- Greg and other members cut/weld to repair rust, replacing body and frame components where necessary to repair or augment strength, rigidity and in some cases are modified to allow different/better suspension and driveline parts to be adapted.- foreign members like TMS assist by locating hard-to-find parts in Japan land.- Nico finds donor RB/VH/VQ/L swap.- car is built to "badass" spec. - painted white with red and blue Nico stripes.- Nico uses car to win awards at events and pull panties off of unsuspecting (or suspecting) import models.

finally, the car comes to rest at d!ck's house, greg keeps trophies and the models are spread around the site like herpes.

Money, time and effort is all you need to restore that old gem. It's a 4dr Datsun Huney Bee with RHD... Just with that it's got some value. Don't know how much but it's a keeper!

Yeah. Gonna put it on ebay in the near future and see what happens. Would like to get at least $800 for it but we'll see.

Uhg. IF I only had the cash to get it to NY. I'd put my spare RB20 or VG-TT in it.
