Hi, i would like to buy a 1970 Datsun 2000 convertible and i want it to be pretty rough so not so expensive for a restoration project....but i dont know where to even start looking for one....i would be happy with one that is just a chassis, body, and wheels lol because i will more than likely motor swap and stuff....is there a certain part of the country to look in or anything like that? im also not going to be able to do anything right now just kinda gathering info so any advice would be much appreciated....thanks guys

If you're gonna swap it, buy a 1600. Much more plentiful, identical to the 2000, and not as rare.

or he can swap that one and send the U your way

but yeah...unless you're really hard up to buy a roadster...wait for a nice 1600 to show up, it's a much better candidate for a swap.

the U20 in the 2000 is a sweet motor, but it gets really expensive..

ok, so 1600 is still a roadster just not so rare right? the main reason im interrested in getting one is cuz i want a fun little old school roadster to cruise around in on sunday afternoons lol. so when i say im gunna swap it and stuff its more gunna be just to have a newer motor for parts and the such.

I have a Original 1967 Datsun 2000 Roadster Solex for sale. (Taking Offers)

It is a one owner 99% rust free california vehicle.

As 1967 was the only model year that the 150hp Competition set-up was offered as a factory option in the U.S, "original solex" cars are by their very nature extremely rare and sought after. The Competition upgrade consisted of dual Mikuni/Solex carburetors, a Solex Camshaft (also known as the "B" cam) and a competition 7qt finned aluminum oil pan for better cooling.

pics or shens.

also...it's technically against rules of the site to sell with less than 10 posts...so please go post in the Z section some

you didn't try to sell that car on ebay a while back did you?

I saw a 2000 on there with the solex package not long ago.
