I have my battery in the back and so on, and recently put my car back together. Was doing a little tuning and it blew a 100 amp fuse (when cranking it once) and theres 2 100 amps fuses in the main battery line. It used to run fine on 2 80 amps fuses from the guy i got the swap and rear battery conversion from. So i dont testing to find that its the alternator charging wire, on the wire itself it has 0 ohms from the alt to my junction block but when you have a probe on the alt wire and the body you get 7 ohms, so i think its grounding on the alt maybe? Is there supposed to be any rubber isolators where that wire hooks to the back of the alt?

12/7= 1.714 Amps...... Wont clear a 100amp fuse. Check on VDC from positive to ground, see if you have 12V then check neg to ground, see if there is anything there, could be a ground fault.

thanks for the help. My battery is on charge so what i done it unhooked the charge cable from the alt and then ohms that end (not touching anything) with the body and still pulled the 7 ohms. Then did tested the alt for the heck of it with the body and it was 0 which is right. Now, the charge wire has may 5 inches before it goes in the loom and re-appears at my junction block. So im guessing its skinned or something leading to a short inside the loom? Im thinking about running so good gauge amp wire in its place from the alt to my junction block now to by-pass all of that. Do you think that will be alright? the factory charge wire goes straight from the alt to the battery doesnt it?

update: i made a seperate wire for the charge cable with another of the same wire from another harness. Then the only thing that worked was the headlights so apparently the charge cable is tied into the main harness somewhere. Im going to look at the fsm and see whats up
