Even though by the time it got to me it was just a Tropical storm, Frances wrecked my s***. Thanks to the wonderful folks at Progress Energy, I've been without power for the past 7 days. When they finally came tonight, it took them less than an hour to fix all the downed lines.

I was also trapped at my house because trees fell down and blocked off the roads. So of course my father and I had to chainsaw them into manageable pieces. While the hurricane was going on.

This is what killed my power

Back yard 2 hours into the hurricane

Random tree-mauling around my house.

And Ivan is supposed to nick me. Oh boy. Good luck to everyone who also might get hit.

If it hits head on, my house is gone. Its around too many trees and much too old to be taking on Cat 4-5 hurricanes.

No offense but that wouldn't be too humorous to him.

I do happen to like my house. Crappy town around it, however. Maybe Ivan will be a stupidity-seeking hurricane.

Same here finally got my power back. Finally I can take a hot shower and have A/C. I had to go through the woods to get otu. I was blocked in. Had a tornado in my back yard and grabbed a couple trees. Made $200 the past couple days cleaning people's yards though. They spent 5 hours fixing my lines before I finally had power.

I always liked it when the power would go out for days at a time during a storm back home (norcal). Good luck to everyone in Fl though, Ivan is gonna be devastating.
