I don't know how your roads are in NorCal...but they are awful here in Jersey and I'm running 5.0/4.2 rates.

It's doable but I wouldn't really recommend it as a daily driver. I imagine 7/5 is going to be even rougher. If you keep the dampers on a soft setting it may be tolerable.

FLT-A2's ran no problem in SF on my buddy's s14. I think they're the same spring rate as you've listed or maybe a little stiffer and they were fine by me. Just be careful of pot holes though, they'll blow the coilovers pretty quickly if you've got alot of em.

hehe, you sound like me.

harshness is dependnand on the driver and environemnt, on NJ potholed roads, a stiffer spring will feel horrible..down here in GA, on the well maintanted roads, a 10-8 or 12-10 setup may do fine...

-chet(I prefer them around 9-7 or 10-8 since track duty will be happening)

Just remember oem springs are around 2.6/2.2 kg/mm for a +-3.5" body roll. You guys are gluttons for punishment.

just got done riding around on my 7/5 d2s and theyre awesome! i have the front set 4 turns in and the rear 3.5 turns in. it hugs pretty good and goes where you point it. its really bumpy going over ****ty roads so i may back both the front and rear out one full turn on the dampers. i like em.

Mine are 5.3/3.7 and I wish they were stiffer (FLT-*** will be had in August) But even at that soft of a spring, 99% of the girls that I have driven around ahve complained. My skinny roommate even said that he felt like he had breasts because how stiff they are. I call em pansies.
