6x9s in the rear deck of a '98 Sentra?

I was wondering if anyone has tried and/or had success installing 6x9s in the rear deck? I know the default size is 6.5/6.75, but I have an extra pair of 6x9s siting around the house and would like to put them to use instead of having to go out and buy some 6.5s. I tried searching the forum, but most of the posts dealt with Nissans other than the Sentra. Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Pretty sure the rear deck back there is something akin to particle board, so it should be hard to cut out the extra space if you need it. Pop the trunk and hold a 6X9 back there.
