Wondering if anyone converted their halogens over to HID.Purchased a HID conversion kit off Ebay for my 2004 Nissan Maxima SE.I was reading that to change your headlights you need to remove the front bumper for the 6th generation Maximas.Does anyone have instructions on how to access the headlight housing? Also looking at the engine compartment I'm wondering where to mount the two ballasts.Look like it's going to be a tight fit!

Actually you do need to remove the front bumper. It's actually pretty easy to drop the bumper, I had mine off last week and it took me maybe 7 minutes to drop (but I've done it countless times now) But for a first timer, maybe 20 minutes. There's 2 screws on either side in the front side of the wheel well (behind the splashguard) And then remove the plastic piece above the radiator and take out 4 more clips and your done, these attach through the grill onto the car. Oh and I think you have to remove the clips on the splashguard underneath if you want to pull the whole bumper away otherwise it will just drop to give you room...Then, If I remember correctly, you have 3 screws to take the headlight housing out, then it's a breeze! (I know it's alot of work to replace a bulb but after the 5th gens had their HID's stolen so often they made the 6th gen a pain in the butt!!

As far as the ballasts, not sure but you can always find a spot!!!Hope this helps!J

I started on the driver's side by just removing the air ducts and I accidentally broke that sensor that sit on the inner fender... now the damn car is throwing a CEL. Does anybody know what that's called?

I hate doing stuff in the winter... everything gets brittle.

Hmm, not sure what it is. Is it fixable or do you have to go to the dealer?

I took the battery out and the CEL went away it may have been a fluke.

The wires stems from the air filter sensors and if you are looking at your car, it is on the right of the air filter box mounted close to the fender. I actually thought it was kind of like a switch for a hood light similar to refrigerators but after looking at it, it might be some sort of a temp sensor.

I want to see pics of output. I want to know if the halogen projectors perform as well as the hid or close to it.
