Calling all 3.5 6MT Coupers...

Got a couple questions -

1) for those of you that have done an exhaust, did you have a ground wire to reattach to the rear muffler section from stock?

2) for those of you that may have an AEM intake... how does the heatshield box fit over the transmission? Is it snug or does it fit as designed?

Thanks in advance, ladies and gents.

My Tanabe has a spot to connect the OEM ground wire. Had it connected on my 08 CVT, 10 CVT, but now on my 10 6MT there is no ground wire. Hence why I'm asking.

I have the AEM intake and when I installed it fit just snug. The directions they supply are pretty good, pictures and all included. For an amateur I guess I did good because I've had no issues with it. :chuckle:

Awesome. Thanks for the replies guys. I finally got all this rockin and figured out.

I went ahead and made a new ground wire because I had a buddy who didn't reconnect his ground wires on his turbo eclipse and it jacked up his idle and ended up blowing a relay. Really bizarre.

My idle is a bit low, but I might have to do the idle-air learning procedure on the car. Gonna work through that and see where it gets me.

Which procedure are you going to use? i know of the pedal trick... but not so sure it works for real every time... its seems real picky with our push button

I'm going to dork with it tomorrow or sunday. I found the FSM procedure somewhere on here. I'll dig it up on wifi in the garage this weekend and post back here and let you guys check my results.

Good choice on the AEM, you won't regret.

Just an update - intake installed without a hitch. Fit even better than it did on my previous two. After taking a closer look at the installation pictures from AEM, I can say without a doubt that they R&Ded their intake on a manual.

Supposed to snow... AGAIN. UGH. Haven't even had the time to get after the idle-air procedure. Perhaps soon. Been killer busy. Squeezed this intake install in at the last minute this past weekend.
