We followed the brake up grade with a up grade 510 brake master cylinder, it said you made a little modification but didnt say what, we cant get the master cylinder to fit, it hits the carbs and the choke cable. Any ideas? I have a 1600 engine dual carbs .

This was what we followed http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/datsun ... ipers.html
thanks
Bob

I will take a pic of mine we first tried the z car and it would hit the choke cable housing and the 510 is doing the same, did you pull the carb first and then mount it? thanks for your help

Got your pics, Bob (they were hard to see on Facebook).

Looks like you're using a different manifold, but I can't imagine what it could be. A 510 manifold puts the carbs closer together, so that might be an option for you.

Can you measure from centerpoint to centerpoint of the black plastic caps on the carbs? I want to compare to my Roadster, and my 510.

ALSO, measure the space between your valve cover and the firewall. I want to see if somehow, your engine sits further back.

should have measurements tomorrow and looking at other carbs I was told The carbs appear to be the correct SU (Hitachi) 38mm models for your roadster.
The clutch master cylinder is not stock. if this helps any, i am open to your creativity

Sounds good, Bob.

This one has me stumped. Those carbs are WAY further back (closer to the firewall) than mine.

Can you post a picture of the new hole that you drilled in the Brake lever? This would help give me and idea of where I should drill compared to the original hole. I installed the 510 Master but there is definitely something wrong in the linkage. I didn't know if I should put a hole slightly lower and get more throw or just closer. A photo from under the dash would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

I think what I did was to install the M/C and the pedal, but with the fork for the M/C rod off to the side. Then, you can hold it against the brake pedal arm and see where it will be positioned "at rest".

My Roadster is up on my lift right now, so she's a bit of a pain to get to - However, I'd hate for you to follow my example 100% and then find out yours needed to be done a little differently.
