Only problem I see would be when you need to pass emissions. I would just throw a weber on and save your DEQ carb for when you need it.

Alright, I'm getting a Weber, but one last question. Should I get the 32/36 DGV kit or the 32/36 DGEV kit. What's the difference?

Is webercarbsdirect.com the cheapest place to get the kit?

Thanks a lot.

The Weber DGV 5A 32/36 is manual choke and works just fine. The DGEV is electric choke and not really needed. Both have save performance and tuning levels.

I used the Redline Weber kits alot. Ebay sells the same kits if you enter Datsun Weber for the search. I have used them alot also.

They are bolt on and go, comes with adaptor plate to stock carb and option of the nice reuseable square chrome air filter. Expect to pay $300 plus alittle more.

I wish I would have thrown a Weber on mine but since Ca emissions I put a rebuilt hitachi and have had problems with it idling way to high. Oh yeah I just noticed you live in MN do you have to pass smog there if not throw a weber on it.

As long as we're asking carb questions here, If I were to replace my Cali emissions on my '77(original) carb with a Weber, what the hell do I do with all those damned miles of vacuum hoses? I don't have to worry about smogging it, I live in NM...
