I'm about due for a 60K service 2012 M37x and there are a few question I have regarding the service.
I have a place that's going to do some of the work and they also told me that some stuff they can't do and I have to take the car to my Dealer for that. understandable.

First Fluids
I call my Dealer and was told that they can not sell me most of the Fluids due to the fact that they buy them in Bulk so they don't come in containers.

1. Engine Oil, what weight do you guys use? they told me that they use Mobile 1?
2. Differential Fluid, I was told they use 80/90 but do you guys have a brand preference for our cars?
3. Coolant, I was told Blue. what do you guys recommend?
4. Brake Fluid. he didn't tell me what they use

I was also told that the Trans Fluid and transfer case fluid can only be done at Infiniti.

Can you guys please give me a hand picking the right fluids for the service

I can't confirm that some fluids can ONLY be changed by the dealer, but I will tell you that I would NOT let anyone else work on the gear box or diff aside from the dealer. My dealer will give me little breaks in the pricing depending on what is being done. When I had new brakes done, they changed the fluid without labor charges - just charged me for the cost of fluid. When I had the coolant changed, they waived 1/2 the labor cost since the car was already in the shop for transmission fluid change.

Look at MA.PDF in here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/M

It answers most of your questions, lists maintenance items, and shows how to perform all the fluid changes, incl. transfer case.

1. Mobil-1 is good
2. No personal brand preference
3. Your local Nissan parts dept sells the same fluids used by Infiniti. I've also bought genuine Nissan (Blue) coolants online, incl. Nissan's concentrate for extreme cold-weather. Use Blue stuff for aluminum engines.
4. Any Dot-3 brake fluid
