Hello everyone.
I have a 2010 Rogue. Im at 60K. I was going to do a brake flush, coolant flush, oil change, diff and transfer case, along with CVT. Now since I work for a auto repair facility, price will be cheaper. Ok I called a nissan dealership that we have an account with. I told the parts guy what I was doing and just getting prices of fluids for right now. He told me that they had 6 rogues in the shop right now needing all transmissions. He said they dont recommend flush or drain and fill. He told me when a flush was performed later on the transmissions locked up. So....ok...whatever..didnt ask what years they had in there. Ok, now I use to work for a nissan dealership, so I called them. Now since he knew me, he told me NOT to flush it, but drain and fill. Then he said one of the parts guys got a versa and hasnt changed his CVT fluid and it has over 100K. So....Im thinking of doing drain and fill........but to all you guys who have done this, wouldnt it be wise to at least drain and fill? I think it would be wise, I mean, I couldnt really hurt anything. Plus I still stay in warranty. But I would like everyones opinion. I truly appreciate it. Oh, and this would be the FIRST fluid change on anything, except oil..every 5K.

Thank you.

Larry

the problem with flushing is it leaves residual fluid thats not cvt approved in the transmission. unless you are going to be using the cvt fluid as the flushing, i wouldnt do it at all. a simple drain and refill is just fine.

Remember, with a 2010 you have a 10 year warranty on your CVT. I would recommend doing everything by the book and at the dealer during that timeframe (in relation to the CVT).
