yeah check craigslist for "eibach pro" and you'll get results. i've seen them for $200-$350. if you get them and have a shop install them, let me know how much they charge you to get the springs installed.. that's the only think keeping me from buying springs right now, i don't wanna blow $200 on springs then $400 on installing them.

Edit: wasn't aware that there's many diff models of eibach pro's. might want to get a set from stillen.com

eibach pro kit. same for 2.5 as 3.5 it's a 1.2 drop on the front and 1.5 in the back i believe. maybe the other way around i'm not sure.. but it's not a big drop, just big enough

It's a different kit for the 2.5 versus the 3.5

http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/html...09102

You can see that the part numbers are different, even though the drop amount is the same. This is most likely due to the fact that the two models have a different weight especially on the front, thus needing a different stiffness.

On the price of install... try finding a friend or even friend of a friend who's got some decent experience and offer them beer / dinner have them help you install it! That'll definitely be the cheapest way to go... or if the dollar is a big concern, you could always try the DIY guide from here and I'm sure the guys around here will help you if you run into troubles!

thanks for the correction, i thought they were the same but it makes sense that they're not. i'd totally say DIY too, but it requires quite a bit of tools, such as a spring compressor that i wouldn't believe most people have. there's a DIY floating around somewhere on installing springs tho.

It's an easy DIY job. Spring compressors can be rented (usually for free) from most places like CrappyTire and PartSource. Other than that, you only need a pair of jack stands, an hex key, a wrench set, a breaker bar, and a torque wrench. Oh, and a sharp knife to cut the bumpstops!

IMHO, the drop seems a lot more than 1.2-1.5".

i've found that the local shops are quite expensive to get the springs. atleast $350.. that was a while ago though, maybe prices have changed as more alti coupes are being bought locally. if they sell for aoud 280, then you might as get it local, since stillen's are 212 US which is about $280 CAD, which doesn't take into account shipping and duties.

i actually tried going to mopac a few months ago and couldn't find their shop, i drove around in circles around that area and wasn't able to find it.. i felt pretty retarded

Just playing... makes me love my Nav haha... and ya, I'm glad I picked up the springs from Stillen when the dollar was pretty much on par

No I haven't because I drive to Whistler to ski on the regular on my winter tires... I think I'm going to get them thrown on either this month or next month by the latest. I'm doing it through a friend who works at a Nissan dealership as a mechanic... Prob take him to a dinner and give him some movie tix for him and his girl or something haha

so what are you going to do for next winter? going to take off the springs and put your snowwies back on?? i was wondering about that delimma, what to do in the winter. i guess it makes sense to just swap the tires but leave the springs, and just accept the fact that you'll be driving lowered in the winter..

and i'm all for bribing mechanics with food and beer

Ya... next winter I'm just going to throw the winters on and leave the springs. I'll just have to not drive when we get dumps of snow. Clearance is the only issue as I've found out with this year's dump around Dec. and I couldn't make it out of my cul de sac even with stock clearance...

I think the springs I paid at most like 250 CND when it's all said and done, which included duty when I brought it back from the states n all that.

yeah the craziest thing today, i rarely see any coupes around and today on the way home from work, i'm merge onto the #1 right behind the exact same coupe as mine (minus the mods). then as i'm passing brunette onramp, a dark slate A/C merges on right in front of me.. no hot chicks unfortunately

all i could think this winter with the big snow dump as i drove around scraping the bottom of my car on the snow pack was "what would this be like if i was lowered?". doesn't help that my alternate car is worse in snowy condistions than my A/C.

I think that living around here that's kind of an issue, i don't want to be stranded for extended periods during the winter if we happen to get another snowfall like last year. maybe i'll get springs after my gf gets an SUV.
