first off i would like to note that this will not be happening untill mid-way through next year. However i figured i should get all the number crunching done now...

i have read various claims of the stock TT internals needing to be swapped out at different horsepower levels... as i am doing a 600HP build on my Z32 TT i was wondering if i could keep the stock internals or would i have to have them changed??

you cannot safely make 600whp with stock internals. You will need pistons, rods, rings, headhasket etc.

600whp is just under doubling the stock HP configuration. I don't believe it was the intentions of the Nissan engineers when they began to architech the VG30/VG30DETT motor to withstand nearly double the base HP configuration. That would be taking a huge risk and doesn't quite pass the common sense test. I'm not to say it can't be accomplished though. Sure, anything is possible. However, it wouldn't be smart nor 'safe' as WhiTTe Z pointed out, and you may risk bodily injury. If you [do] decide to go that route, then best of luck. But there's something about I told you so that has purpose.

Be sure to document everything. Especially the advantages & disadvantages so other ppl can read and learn from your experience.

Many TT have made 500-600 hp on stock internals.. Everything is forged except for the pistons, which are the weak link.. Another note is the coolant gallery that runs from the front of the engine to the rear. Almost if not all problems with a stock block go to the back two cylinders running HOT.. You must clean out the castings.

well when i do start the build as most of you all and i know the motor must be pulled. While it is out i will be doing anything i can think of to make the car handle the HP i want to push. I have read that it was commonplace to swap out the pistons/rods ETC. when going over the stock HP levels... i just don't know exactly what needs to be changed at that HP level, hence why i asked. :) better safe than sorry i say
