Hi everyone! I've been around the forums a couple of times and there is just an amazing wealth of information! I finally decided to register because a slight case of modbug has bitten me and I need a little help with deciding between some things.

I've added foot well lights already and it only makes sense (my opinion lol) that I just do a full LED swap of the interior and swap out the headlights for something a little whiter. Before someone jumps down my throat for loss of lumens and what not, I realize the stock 4300K HIDs are the best for visability, but I just like the whiteish-blue-tinted look. I was looking at 6000K lights and was about to jump on the DDM lights when someone on the forums (here or elsewhere, I'm not sure), said that it doesn't make sense to swap out your good quality OEM Philips bulbs for something that is lower quality. Given this, I decided to look up the Philips bulbs and I can't seem to find any comparisons of whether or not there is a slight color difference between the DDMs and the Philips. Any members here have Philips 6000k bulbs that can give me a little insight?

On a side note, I found this on http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-35W-6000K-P ... 608wt_1270 and was wondering if this guy can be trusted?

Let's be honest here - any blue bulb is going to be a lot less light than your stock HIDs, so why does it really matter? Either way, I am 99% sure that Philips only makes 6000K Ultinon bulbs which are D2S (for projector lights) and NOT D2R (for reflector lights) which you need. If you find any that say they are D2R, it is very likely that someone has just taken the D2S bulb and rebased it for the D2R socket. The only 6000K D2R bulb that I know if is the Morimoto one which you can buy from TheRetrofitSource.

EDIT: There is one Philips CrystalVision 5000K D2R bulb, part number 85126CVS2. This is a white bulb, not a blue one.

First of all, thanks for the info! Given that I alreasy ordered the bulbs, the question is should I return them since they might be D2S on a D2R base? The seller accepts returns at any rate so I can try them on and see if the color matches and whatnot, but is there any long term issue with having a set of D2S bulbs on D2R bases?

Don't worry about it if you are happy with the light output and color.
