My car doesn't upshift easily. If I floor the accelerator to a high rpm, the car will not shift unless I ease off the pedal. I just came back from testing the car and for example, when I took off from a red light, I found my car stayed stuck at 3000rpm for a while and then finally it continued climbing to 6000rpm+ and would not shift unless I let off the pedal. Also when it was at 3000rpm, it felt like the car wanted to go, but something was holding it back. I think it feels like a miss or no fuel, not sure though.

Anyone have any ideas as to what this might be? Could it be the TCU?

sounds like it could be a TPS issue.

But that would trow a code [check engine light].

WOT shifting is normally 6400-6600 rpm with a tight transmission..........if you study FSM you will find shift rpm/speed for each gear for differing throttle positions.

TCU / corroded ground / failing shift solenoid?

Would low or high transmission fluid level do this too?
