it would take a large amout of money to get to the point that we have trains at the speed. the whole track system in NA would have to be replaced. in most places we are still running on tracks that were laid in the late 1800's early 1900's. second if you look at alot of the places around the world that are building this super trains, their built away from other roads. when they are met by a road, the road has a over pass but in the us most places just throw up a light , or stop arm, or even just a sign telling ppl to stop. and weve seen how well thats worked out in the states over the year. so then you would also have to rework the roads were ever this would conflict eachother. and most of the companies that run the train system dont want to spent the money for something new when the old way is working fine in their minds. "profit margens"... not that i dont want to see it in the US, i just dont think it will be in my life time.
