Also, with traction, the optimal performance if to have roughly 11 or 12% tire slippage, believe it or not.
So in other words, when launching, if having NO traction is 100%, and not even chirping the tires is 0%, you want about 12%. Which basically is no squeeling, or a very minimal amount. This is basically when your maximum acceleration is. If you don't let the tires slip at all (soft launch), you aren't getting enough power to the ground. On the other hand, if you light up your street tires like they are in some top fuel dragster, your launch will be by far worse.
Most people I see launch their cars WAY to high of RPM and make the tires slip WAY too much. On the other hand there is bogging the car. But try to find that nice point inbetween where u get the perfect launch, and then try to be consistant with each additonal launch.
