me and my friend are trying to install a 6 speed s15 transmission in his car, he has a 96' SE with abs .got everything done but the speedometer.he doesn't want to mess with original cluster even thou he has the s15 cluster available. Is there converter or module or something to make it work? I think I've some thing about it.

You're right... The S15 transmission was under designed for what most enthusiasts do to it. It's essentially a 5 speed housing with 6 gears worth of crap in it so all of the gears are smaller. I would stay away from it.

The speed sensor goes in the diff on an s15. So you need an s15 diff housing to make it work.

sr20det s14 engine.power output is stock with no main mods so we figure it will be ok for daily driven since the s15 motor puts out 250 hp.It has abs so the diff has the sensor,we just need to know if there's some way to hook it up without the hassle.

S15 diff houses the speed sensor. It is not the same as the ABS sensor.

Also, the gearing of 1-5 is not the same as 1-5 of the 5 speeds. You essentially have the same top speed in 6th as you would in 5th on a typical 5 speed

I think I've read somewhere about a signal converter the could use the same signal of the abs sensor and slow it.

also I know that 6th and 5th have the same ratio but 1th to 5th are closer togther, that means more torque, right?
