After driving a mazda speed 3 and ford mustang today, the shifters on these cars feel much better for some reasons. The coupes shifter feels a little long compared to the short throws for other cars of the class.

Anyone else feel the shifter is a little off? Are there any short throw shifter kits out for the coupe yet? Do you think there will be?

On another note, the honda civic si shifter was terrible. I have to move that thing a mile to go from first to second gear.

Screwed up title, sorry.

Overall I think the shifter is adequate. Sure if it were a bit shorter then it would rock, but it seems like it does the job well. No real issues on my end from going from 1st gear to 2nd.

Would be nice if a short-shifter is developed for this car, ... plus a blow-off valve,, and a turbocharger to precede that of course..... I'm getting ahead of myself though. :P All that I know of in development is the Cold Air Intake and a spoiler or two (I just read that on another post)!.

I haven't had any problems with shifting between gears...

But I have noticed a lack of space near the pedals. My feet seem to hit the plastic panel above the pedals quite a bit.

its probably because the front wheel altima coupe and the civic si both have a longer shift compared to a rear wheel drive mustang

The civics shifter is like.. yeah.. useless. The coupe is ok, it needs to be improved some. Most people do not mind, but I really enjoy more of a sports shifter. The mustang and mazda are nice and short, very easy to work.

They have to make a kit for the coupe. It would improve the car a lot for those of us with the 6 speed. Do they make kits that have the reverse latch like the coupe does?
