Has anyone changed their own fluid in a 6 speed manual transmission? If so, what fluid did you use? Synthetic or Dino style. And what brand?

Mine needs to be changed and I would like to do it myself, instead of taking it to the dealer. Also, if you have done it yourself, any pointers?

Thanks.

My 2009 Versa sedan with MT_6 calls for 75W-85 gear oil GL-4. If you use a type GL-5 gear oil, be aware that some will attack some of the soft metals in the transmission such as the synchronizers. The only place I could find that 75W-85 gear oil was at the dealer.

I do not know. The oil is made for Renault. I know that Red Line makes MT-90 75W90 GL-4 Gear Oil as do others.
