I couldn't find this in the archives, so...
Just wanted to get your mouths salivating a bit and your minds racing....
I did some side-by-side comparisons to the Versa, Sentra, and Juke. All use a 6-speed pattern with RS6F94R transaxle type.
Versa MR18DE vs. Sentra MR20DE
Transmission model is the same. Both are 6-speeds with Warner Synchromesh type.
1st, 2nd, and 4th gear is the same.
3rd, 5th, and 6th are different, but the final ratio is the same. Those that want more MPG in 6th gear need the Sentra gears.
Versa gear ratios:
1st 3.727, 2nd 2.105, 3rd 1.452, 4th 1.171, 5th 0.971, 6th 0.811
Sentra gear ratios:
1st 3.727, 2nd 2.105, 3rd 1.519, 4th 1.171, 5th 0.914, 6th 0.767
Now that Juke is out...
Juke gear ratios:
1st 3.363, 2nd 1.947, 3rd 1.393, 4th 1.114, 5th 0.914, 6th 0.767
I don't know that a Juke transmission is 100% able to work on the Versa, but it would fix the 1st/2nd short shifting (some complained about it) and get better MPG in 6th gear. If you wanted some more 3rd gear pull, you may be able to stay with the Sentra 3rd gear (best acceleration). I am asking a few questions around to see if I can get confirmation that anything is able to be swapped "easily". We may have an OEM solution to the things not enjoyed about the 6-speed.
