So I a 6-puck clutch and a lightweight flywheel installed by a mechanic last week. As is good with the feel and grab and all that. I just have a weird noise that happens when slowing down. It starts at around 2500 rpms and stops at about 2100. I have on idea what it is. I didn't do it up until a couple of days ago. Maybe you guys might know what it is. I took a video of it but it is just from a cellphone so it's pretty shatty quality. If you listen close you will hear it. I do it twice.

I've got about 300 miles on it so far. Been shifting before 3000, babied the piss out of it during the break-in. Although I have heard from a few people that disc type clutches doesn't need a break-in. I'm not taking any chances either way. What you guys think?

It sounds like maybe chatter? However it would only chatter between shifts and not while its engaged and decel. Unless its a cheap pos idk. However for break in you have to shift before 4k rpms. So you are good there. I would break it in for 500 miles no matter what kind of clutch it is. Definitely let us know what brand this stuff is.

Yeah it kind of sounds like a rattling noise with a little bit of vibration. It is an F1 stage 3 clutch and flywheel. Before this turns into a cheap eBay clutch debate, just let me say that a buddy of mine wrecked his 240 before he got to install this on his. He let me get it cheap. The stock clutch was fine, it wasn't slipping or anything and could be put back in, but I though what the hell. It was a good buy. Had a mechanic put it in and bypassed the dampening box. Everything is fine otherwise. Grabs like a bee and no slipping yet. Granted I haven't done a hard pull on it yet but I'm not turbo or anything. Just bolt-ons.

When I had my zenki and installed my aftermarket clutch/flywheel, I had a vibration from somewhere close to those rpm numbers on decel and I was told it was normal. It was my first aftermarket clutch/flywheel so I believed them (plus I was 15). I still haven't figured out what it was until this day but It didn't hurt my car and it's still running 19,000 miles later (as the kid's facebook shows)..

My car does the same thing since i installed my lightweight flywheel. It has been almost 2 years and i have not had any problems. However it is a bit irritating .I think that taking that much mass off of the crank amplifies the vibrations in the KA engine (not the smoothest engine to begin with.)

what do you mean bypassing the dampening box, thats most likely the problem. But I have also heard bad things from those clutches. As you can tell, it happens to alot of people.

The clutch dampening box is what I mean. That's not the problem. I too have heard bad things about 'em as well as with other eBay clutches. I just got a good deal on it. Good to know that there are a few people with the same thing and it doesn't seem to cause any problems. +1 for Nico, again.
