i just installed an act six puck clutch about two days ago. when i took it for a test drive, i noticed the car would occasionally shutter violently while engaging the clutch. it feels as if i have a faulty throuout bearing. however the throughout bearing is brand new and i havent beated on it yet. also, my car is basically stock in terms of power. it only seems to do this in 1st and 2nd gears. is this a normal occurance? also, what would you guys say the break-in period is?

Are you trying to engage it gently like a stock clutch?

6 puck!! U have to softly engage it. try reving it up a little and slowly let go of the clutch. imo a 6 puck is way to harsh for a stock KA. Break in period would be any from 450-550miles. Give ur Clutch a variety of different RPM ranges, but stay under 4000!! I would also suggest new transmission mounts since u have a 92.

The more important question to be asked is why in the F*ck do you have a 6 puck clutch?? Pushing 300+ HP are we??

I am also running a 6 puck on my KA, and it will shudder sometimes when you take off. It really is hard to take off smoothly with such a grippy clutch. Don't worry though, you will get used to it. Oh, and I know I may not need a 6 puck, but whatever, I like it. Also, like what was said above, you should replace the transmission mount now.

Then I'd say there's your problem. Why install a 6 puck clutch if you're going to pretend it's stock? Not only will it be a rough ride, but you'll wear it out in no time treating it like that.
