Do you really need to take off the intake manifold to get to Injectors on a 92 300zx 2+2 NA

I've gotten estimates on the work, I'm repulsed. 3 grand for new injectors!

Am I getting jerked around??

Welcome man! Its not as hard as it seems, its just a lot to look at when you pop the hood. If you take your time and a lttle patience, it can be done in your garage, but yes, the manifold must come off! I am sure any of us would be willing to help in anyway we can.

3000 is outrageous, a mechanic should not top you 300 for that, testing the injectors, and replacement of one or two.

if its 3000, buy a new damn engine and get it installed

thats a certified rip off...

injectors can be replaced WITHOUT removing the plenum....BUT

You will have to do a little bit of dremeling to the plenum and will have enough material available as to not create a hole/leak in the intake plenum. Dremel small "half moon" shapes above the 2 bolts which hold the injectors in place. This will allow you access to them with only just removing a few items..not your whole upper plenum.

I could swear I put a link to DIY instructions on my post above . If that was a no no and I offended someone, I'm sorry. Won't happen again.

The VG30DE(TT) is not a hard motor to work on, it just looks that way. I'd rather tear into one of those instead something like a Toyota Previa minivan

That was a joke right? I mean yah, Previa is a beehotch since it's like inside the cabin, but that's not the car in question here. VG's NA or TT are hard to work on. I mean how much experience do you have with them? This isn't a b!tching contest..I just really find your statement to be off.

I hear where you're coming from but I don't find it as bad as most do. Don't get me wrong the VG is a PITA but in the end it all comes apart one way or another. I've also had a decent amount of experience working on one. I wouldn't go out to say I'm a master at the VG cause that I am not but I'll work on anything before assuming it's pita to work on.

I don't often agree with WBZ, but in this case, DAMN. He's right...

I replaced a t-stat and radiator on a 93 Z and cussed the whole time.... and I have quite a bit of "underhood" experience on Nissans...
