my car has really running like crap , so yesterday i decided to spend over $100 on fuel filter oil and filter sea foam and some injector cleaner . i added the cleaner on empty the hole bottle and then put 15 dollars in gas which was not much but plan on doing a fuel pump this week , so I'm trying to keep the gas low so i can change it without losing much gas. anyway, i decided to change the oil and run some see foam thru it to lower the carbon levels .before i change the oil i ran the sea foam in the oil for 5 min then drained the oil flushing thru about 3 qt after it drip dry .... completed oil change and changed the fuel filter. when changing the filter i noticed that the line was nicked and possibly had a hole . so replaced damaged line and and all went well filter went right on after some cursing and grease on the lines . started it up and it ran worse then before . it felt like a bad injector leek.i tested the injectors and found that #6 has no ohms so must be a bad wire or something ?another one was like 100 or something and one read 60 something the rest where fine . so my question is why would the #6 injector have no ohm to it ?could something i did have caused this problem ?

this was all last night, when i test drove it backfired and felt like it was on its last leg then this morning i drove to the store and was better none of the other symptoms but had a bad shake around 2000 rpms the shake was always there but felt worse

Sea Foam is not recommended. "Some injector cleaner" is not BG44K.

well i didn't run sea foam in the crank case . i can see how it would be bad , because hydro lock but why would it be bad to run it in the oil if i drain all the oil after and run 3 qts thru to flush it out what would it or could it do ? it wasn't fuel injector cleaner it was octane booster sorry i look for bg44k but can't find it really what i want to know is how could a injector have no ohm and could the sea foam cause this problem

Seafoam did not cause the dead injector(s). It's been coming on for a while and is the major contributor to your poorly running engine. The dead injector is probably an infinate reading and the two that are ohming high will soon join their mate and go dead also. Time for at least 3 replacement injectors.

It's possible that the FI with a 0 reading is a bad harness but you've got the other two that have definately gone bad so it's sort of a moot point. Sorry to have to be the one to give you the bad news. Which two are giving the high reading?

If you checked the injector resistance, how is it possible to have a bad wiring harness??? To check the resistance of the injector you would have to disconnect the harness in the first place. When checking the injectors, the main thing to check for is the difference between one and the rest. If they are all 100 or 1000 they are ok. If one is 40 then you know that one is shot. Even better to do is when one goes, just replace them all while you are doing the job. They are bound to go out as well.Cheers

Well, the post above has enough bad information you may ignore it.

Yeah, the last two sentences weren't bad though. Ohming the injectors is testing the coil winding in the injector. This is an electro magnet which opens and closes the injector. A fuel injector cleaner won't reconnect broken/corroded wire windings. If you've got bad ohm readings at the wire harness (the way to check them without pulling the plenum) then you need either a new harness (not likely) or injectors (much more likely). Then, when you've got the plenum off you can go ahead and unhook the wire harness from the injectors and measure them directly. If a couple are dead, it's far better to replace them all with NEW ones than just the couple bad ones. Pulling the plenum is never fun, but then again, injectors aren't cheap and it's always easier for me to spend your money than for you to spend your money
