Fairly new to this guys...I have a 2006 maxima that's showing signs of transmission failure...due to a little research it may not be the transmission....with these cars could it be the valve body

Do you have the 5 speed automatic? RE5F22A is the code. If yes, chances are the valve body is the issue. A company called Transgo makes a repair kit but it's insanely difficult to find a shop to install it if you don't have the tools/ability to do it yourself.
